Ten days and counting down…
If you are watching the news and reading the papers, you are aware that the state legislature still has a LOT of work to do to come up with a state budget plan that has an $878 MILLION dollar hole! So far, after the few bills that have made it through the process, there is still a shortage of $750 million. HALF of that hole could be filled the first year by raising the Gross Production Tax.
Actions we can take:
*Call your state Representative and Senator and tell them to raise gross production tax! (Preferably to the historical 7% level.) Make this tax apply to all existing wells and new wells!
*Call your state Representative and Senator and tell them to fill the budget hole—pass the cigarette tax, pass the motor fuel tax—or whatever they have to do that is fair--and NO MORE CUTS to state agencies.
This isn’t about new services, enhanced funding, or special projects—this is about survival.
Please do not hesitate to call me or email me if you have questions or concerns.
THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!
