Quick update on SB242, placing the state treasurer on the OTRS and OPERS Boards of Trustees: There were only four senators voting NO—McCortney, Pederson, Pemberton, Simpson. If any of these gentlemen are your senator, please thank them for their vote. They voted with their constituents! Not voting were Bass, Brecheen, David, Fields, Fry, Holt, Marlatt, Pittman, and Schulz. All other votes were a yes. The bill has been “enrolled” and will now be sent to the Governor.
Again, please let your legislator know that we are supporting restoring the Gross Production Tax to the historical 7% level. In addition we are supporting other revenue raising measures that will pull our state out of the massive budget hole in which we are currently sitting. If you only have time to make a few calls, please call your state senators; there seems to be more of an effort to avoid raising GPT in that chamber.

Thanks for ALL that you do!
